Being Honest With Yourself

Sometimes I don’t know what to do or how to change my issues and circumstances; that’s when it’s time to let go and let God. I am mindful of the fact that it’s not my own, but the Lord’s. Trying to work things out without confiding in the Lord is an exercise in futility.Wandering in the wilderness is described in the biblical account of the Israelites after they were freed from Egyptian captivity and likened to an individual or a nation that has been confined or separated from their true nature. You become and function in a way that is not in alignment with the proper understanding of who you can be.We were given a commandment not to conform to the ways of the world. However, in the scheme of things, even after being exposed to this concept, we are already entrenched in ways that are foreign to our natural ways of living. Change is not easy. Conditioned and programmed to exist in an altered state, which is to our disadvantage.Being honest with ourselves requires seeking comfort in the source we come from—not conforming to a way of life that creates a void in our lives—seeking comfort from substances and things that are not sustainable. Our material comfort and toxins to relieve anxiety and distress perish when the novelty wears off or when we awaken from our stupor.Being truthful is recognizing the spiritual connection that is at the core of who we are. There is another world inside of us yearning to express itself. We are suffering needlessly, and the wandering spirit inside of us needs to cease. Our inner journey is our most extraordinary quest, a stroll through our minds. It’s time, like the prodigal son, to come to an awareness of who you really are.The Creator made humanity in his image and likeness. We live in times when we face issues and concerns that reflect a world designed for the pleasure of man, not the Creator. When we see the ceaseless conflict likened to the Prophet Jeremiah, we lament the state of affairs and how the people of God have become separated and have embraced ways that are foreign to the Creator’s commandments.Being honest with yourself as a nation or on a personal level, we are in distress and suffering needlessly in the absence of God. Yes, we can live our lives and do what pleases us, but it comes at a price. The foolishness and folly of manownership of the role that we play in our lives is what turns things around. We are in the midst of a significant shift and realignment, and the former things and ways of man have been a dismal disappointment. Moving forward requires a fearless moral inventory of ourselves and the role that we play in the conflictual nature that exists amongst us and in us.Being a change agent is the path of enlightenment that is consistent with our spiritual unfoldment and realignment. We have a choice and a way that is pleasing to the Creator. The Creator is wisdom and love for humanity in the manner of the prodigal son’s father, who is waiting patiently for us to return to the ways that he has decreed for us.It’s our time to change the narrative for ourselves and future generations. We can have a generational blessing rather than a generational curse. We deserve better, and it is the pleasure of the Lord that we have a complete and abundant way of life. It’s the grace and mercy that he knows what is inside of us; he made us in his image and likeness, designed to do his will and operate in his majestic ways.Understanding the divine nature we have is the restoration of hope and the freeing of the captive we become when we live a life contrary to the commandments of the Lord. There is a long list of commandments to follow, but the greatest commandment is to love others. In the worldly orientation we live in, we prey on one another rather than pray for one another. It’s easy to justify our errant ways when we give credence to our low desires. Our mind is incredible, and we can explain things that we take delight in and serve our needs. Our free will can go astray; we have the capacity to dig a ditch or create a path pleasing to our Creator.Being honest with ourselves requires taking ownership of our errant ways. Our thoughts are not always pure, but we do not act on them. Thoughts and things words do appear. We make a conscious effort to do whatever we do when thoughts come into your mind that are not consistent with the will of the Creator; you do not have to yield to them; your discernment is in the joy.Being honest with yourself, acknowledge that no one is above the rules of engagement; we make our heaven or hell on this earth — it is a state of mind. Heaven and hell are both states of mind. Heaven is a peaceful state of mind, in contrast to hell, which is a state of conflict and despair that we inflict upon ourselves. What’s going on inside of us —what we allow ourselves to be consumed with or focus on —makes a difference. Our state of being and the thoughts we give credence to or intend make a difference. In biblical lore, God instructed us to delight ourselves in the ways of the Lord and to meditate on his words daily. We cannot serve two masters. What a man thinks and believes in his heart matters. In the biblical lore, we are encouraged to let this mind be in us that was also in Christ Jesus.God did not leave us or forsake us; he has never put any more on us than what we can bear. He always leaves a way of escape for the faithful. Understanding the enormous potential that we have and not letting our limitations be our focal point. We are made in the best of molds, a little lower than the angels, in alignment with the source of all that exists and the life force that resides in us. Words can’t do justice to describing what we can be when we live a life that was designated for us when the Creator laid the foundations for this world. What the Creator has for you is for you.The biblical narrative states: “Eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard, Nor has entered the mind of man the things that the Lord has in store for those that love the Lord that are called, according to his purpose.”We are at the precipice of another world order, unlike the worldly order that man aspires to achieve. There is an emerging consciousness that the Creator is raising a nation that will obey his commands.
